Honey-Butter Craze ~ Korea

It seem like almost everything from Korea is able to create a craze in Asia. From K-pop to drama, fashion, food etc (not forgetting plastic surgery =P), for which these eventually developed into the K-culture.

As much as the hallyu wave has a great impact to Asians, Korean themselves are just as into it as well. And one of the fever which is currently ongoing is the honey-butter craze! (the craze for honey butter chips)

We spoke to few groups of Korean friends and whenever on the topic of this chips, they got real excited but eventually 'frustrated'. These were few things they mentioned in common

1) It is very popular in Korea
2) Very tasty
3) But always out of stock
4) Supply are more these days but it is still hard to purchase most of the time
5) Even when stocks are available, each person is only entitle to one pack purchase
Summarize all 5 points above, this is the trend in Korea which is also known as

If you ever wonder what on earth gets sold out within 10 mins, it's the Honey Butter Chips. It is unbelievable this 'legendary chips' goes off the shelves in less than 10mins upon restock NATIONWIDE

The sales of Haetae-Calbee soared significantly thanks to Honey-Butter Chips. Due to such huge demand, the company hired thousands of employees just for the production of this chips. Little did they know the honey-butter craze was spread on to other part of Asia, such as Hong Kong being the prime victim. And this mean production need to be stepped up further but for sure that's a good problem to have for the company.

At its peak, Koreans are buying this chips online at 3 packets for more than $100

Good news to fellow Singaporean, Happymunchers is currently in final stage of discussion with our supplier on introducing this locally, that means to say in time (matter of how soon) to come you will be able to taste what made the Koreans went fighting for. Due to popular demand in Korea, our supplier is only able to provide a limit quantity each time. And we assure you it will not cost you more than $100 for 3 packs!
